Co-President
Hi there! I'm Jessica and I am Co-President with Sara! I am currently in my third-year of biomedical engineering and I am so excited to be a part of BMESS for my second year in a row. Sara and I will be responsible for overseeing events that encourage and educate students about the biomedical engineering career. We will also collaborate with BME faculty members to provide students the necessary support for them to be successful in their studies. Outside of engineering, I am also VP External of the Vietnamese Student Association and in my free time I enjoy baking, reading, and playing piano. Hi! I'm Sara and I am so excited to be the Co-President of BMESS this year with Jessica! I'm in my 3rd year of Biomedical Engineering and this is my 2nd year of being a part of BMESS. Jessica and I will be connecting undergraduate BME students with faculty to provide support and opportunities targeted for those in the program. We will be hosting a lot of fun networking events throughout the year, so make sure to keep updated with BMESS! VP Academic
My name is Kulreeth Bedi, I am a 3rd-year Chemical Engineering Student with a minor in Biomedical Engineering. As the VP Academic, I hope to provide helpful resources to support the students in the Biomedical Engineering major and minor. My main motive is to bridge the gap between the faculty and students to ensure that their overall experience in the program goes by smoothly. I also want to start a new initiative where students can be given the opportunity to see what different professions they can pursue being a Biomedical Engineer. Outside of academics, I enjoy spending time with my family, friends, and dog.

hi , I'm a 4th-year Software Engineering major with a minor in Biomedical Engineering, returning from a 16-month internship at Arcurve. As Senior VP, I'm dedicated to providing unwavering support and guidance to the team as they navigate the challenges and opportunities of the year ahead. I'm interested in the intersection of technology and healthcare, specifically in biomedical machine learning applications. I'm eager to explore how these cutting-edge technologies can revolutionize biomedical techniques for the betterment of society. Outside of school, my hobbies include crochet, photography, and creating lasting memories with family and friends.

Hello there! I'm Hira Tariq and I am currently an Events Commissioner for BMESS. I'm a second-year biomedical engineering student with a digital engineering minor. Being part of BMESS is truly rewarding, and my role in Events allows me to contribute to planning fantastic opportunities for students across campus to connect and explore more about our club. Biomedical Engineering has always fascinated me, and my involvement in this club has deepened my interest. Connecting with fellow students who share similar academic pursuits is essential to the university experience, and the Events portfolio of BMESS plays a pivotal role in fostering these connections. Beyond academics, I have a passion for various forms of art, whether it's painting or crocheting. I'm also an avid reader, and even in fictional works, I appreciate how they often reflect aspects of our society today!

Hello! My name is Kirsten, and I am the BMESS VP Internal representative this year! I am in my last year of school, studying a mechanical engineering major with a biomedical engineering minor. I am passionate about biomedical design- specifically, I can't wait to explore the device and prosthetics industry. As your VP Internal, I plan on organizing council events, decorating the homeroom, and creating funky merchandise for you to wear ;) Some fun facts about me: I love swimming and playing soccer, I have an identical twin sister, and getting creative with art and baking/cooking are a few of my favourite hobbies!

As an external commissioner, I'm very dedicated to finding new and exciting Internship and Research opportunities for Biomedical students. Our committee's main goal is to connect Biomedical students with as many resources as they will need to pursue a career/graduate program or industry-related work in the field. Hello! My name is Jocelyn Arely Martinez Medrano and I am a 3rd-year Civil Engineering student with a minor in Biomedical Engineering. Hello, My name is Chiamaka an I am the VP External for BMESS. As a biomedical engineering student, I find myself fascinated by the intricacies of the human body and how technology can be used to improve our health and well-being. When I'm not studying, I love to unwind by diving into different worlds through reading mangas or immersing myself in a thrilling movie or series. I find that these hobbies provide a great escape from the stresses of academic life while also helping me to exercise my imagination and critical thinking skills. Whether I'm following the adventures of my favorite manga characters or exploring the complexities of the human experience through film and television, I always come away feeling inspired and energized, ready to tackle whatever challenges lie ahead.

Hello! I'm Yasmeen, serving as the Fundraising Commissioner for the Biomedical Engineering Student Society. Currently in my second year pursuing a major in Biomedical Engineering, I devote my efforts as a fundraising commissioner to brainstorming and executing innovative fundraising ideas for our many events. My goal is for us to always have enough resources that ensure everyone enjoy themselves, create lasting memories, and make valuable connections. Besides academics, I enjoy reading, watching anime, collecting manga, and spending time with cats, whether it's with my own two kitties, Goose and Ducko, or volunteering at the local cat shelter.

Hello! My name is Micaela and I am a 3rd year student majoring in Geomatics Engineering with a minor in Biomedical Engineering! I am the VP Communications and oversee the presence on the club on our social media platforms. I am very interested in the applications within the intersection between my major and minor such as using data analysis methods to research less invasive diagnostic measures for conditions such as Alzheimers disease. Outside of academics, I enjoy travelling, spending time with friends and family, and playing in viola at the University of Calgary orchestra. My part in BMESS as an Academic commissioner is to leverage academia and community to expose the vast opportunities for my BME peers to pursue. Hello! My name is Veronika and I'm an Internal Commissioner at BMESS this year! I am in my 3rd year of the biomedical engineering major with interest in tissue and biomaterials engineering. My role as an Internal Commissioner includes planning our council bonding events, decorating our lovely homeroom, and helping design any BMESS merchandise! As the design commissioner my aim is to create a cohesive and visually appealing way to inform people about events and opportunities.
